After about 100 searches of pyro install on the TDR, finally got the nerve to drill and tap the manifold for the thermo couple. The pilot hole was a bit nerve racking (especially when the bit went all the way thru, point of no return), but after that everything went good. Just wanted to thank all the TDR members for the good info on this site.

I don't think you need to even drill a pilot hole as the cast iron is so soft that it is no problem to just drill it once in the correct size.



I did not drill a pilot hole when I did mine and it worked perfect.
