My friend just got a 2001 (i think) 2500 dodge w/automatic all stock and i told him to get a fuel pressure gauge, do you guys think he needs to worry about EGT gauge? he is going to use it to pull a trailer but im not sure of the weight.
Ditto. Especially if the air filter gets a little plugged up, he tows in the mountains, things can ge thot in a hurry. I hit 1350 with a stock 93 W350 going up Vail Pass empty. Had plenty of pedal left, but was at 12K ft, so that may have had some impact on it... ANYthing with a turbo needs a pyrometer, IMO. Cheap insurance.
I'm only at about 6-800 ft elevation and hit 1200. I was also trying to see how hot I could get it. It would rarely get over 1100 degrees running normally. Had a K&N drop in air filter. I just wonder how hot I had it last year pulling hard in the Rockys before I had gauges. These things should come stock with pyros.
Ouch, My truck only sees around 1100 preturbo max with the comp in EZ mode and 13000 pounds of hay. Maybe the 5 inch exhaust and BHAF are helping a little.
