EGT placement

I have read on several post before on placement for the EGT probe for pre-turbo but cant remember what the best placement is? Left or Right on exhaust manafold above turbo. Any suggestions? THANKS!

This is a line drawing of probe placement. I used this drawing last Sunday when I installed my EGT gauge.



Good luck. It's not as bad as I thought it would be. I did drill the first hole in the air horn for the boost gauge figuring that if I screwed it up, it would not cost as much or be as hard to replace.



Make sure you vacuum and use a magnet to get all the metal shavings out after you drill & tap.



I almost forgot... If you use a 1/8 NPT like I did, make sure you drill a 5/16 hole. The drawing says 7/16. The larger hole is for a 1/4 NPT.
