EGT probe mounting, which size

My new Isspro EGT gauge sensor came with a 1/4 inch HD steel mounting adaptor... ... ... the vendor included a 1/8 adaptor, however it is just a simple brass compression fitting like you would hook up your ice-maker in your fridge with.....

I would like to just drill and tap 1/8, but this "dinky" brass piece bothers me a bunch... ..... will in handle 1300 degrees?

What did you guys use?

Mine came with an 1/8NPT to fine thread adapter that is SS. I'd call the vendor and request something like that before I would install brass into the exhaust manifold. Also, I wouldn't to the 1/4NPT unless you accidently mess up the 1/8 hole or threads.

Thanks..... A friend has a lot of stainless fittings and he has a 1/8 pipe X 1/4 compression in stainless so I'm going to use it.
