Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) EGT question with new plate & towing

I just put the #6 fuel plate in my 95 auto. Definitely was worth it. I also added the boost and EGT guage. My question is in regards to safe EGT's while towing. I have a trip planned next weekend through the mountains pulling a trailer, and I wanted to know while towing uphill, what extended EGT's should I be concerned about. I don't think I will have a problem. Driving around unloaded the max EGT I saw when doing a hard acceleration is 750. Also the temp probe is located pre-turbo.

How Hot??

They say 1250* on the EGT pre-turbo. By your signature this is the only mod? If you do the Exhaust to a 4' and the air intake, like BHAF,AFE, anything from stock you can lower the temp by a couple hundred degrees. These mod help the engine breath a little better. Breath in-add fuel-breath out, ZOOM. Have fun and smile a little more. You can also bump the timing 15. 5-16. 0 and add the GSK springs. The trans will fallow soon. So now you need a block under the go pedal to save the trans.

You need to get an inoculation, for the booming bug, it has bit you LOL. Oo.

Right now this is the only mod. Trans is comming very soon. I am also looking at doing the exhaust soon.

You can run between 1100 and 1200 degrees all day long with no harm to engine just don't go much higher than that. Its a diesel and they love it. Enjoy the power.

I too started with a #6 plate. In my case that was the last mod the transmission could take. Once the timing was bumped and GSK were added the transmission started to slip at 100K.

Motor can handle the 1100-1200 all day long but you might see an increase in the coolant temps. .

what's a gsk? how much are the plates? where can i get one? are they easy to instal. what would the transmission need to take this power?

Wow! I couldn't believe the power the truck had now with the #6 plate. EGT's touched 1200 once on a long pull, but mph never dropped below 70.
