Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) EGT sensor thread size

Since I am already over budget on my conversion (go figure) I do not have the money to buy a EGT gauge at present. However, since the engine is out and easily accessible I would like to drill and tap for one now and plug it until funds are more plentiful. Do different brand gauges require different sizes or is it pretty much universal? What size threads is it?

There are 2 sizes commonly used... . 1/8 & 1/4 npt. If you tap now be sure to use lots of anti-seize on the plug you install.

1/8 or 1/4 in NPT thread is used by most gauge mfg's. It's your choice.
