I have the Banks Stinger exhaust and intercooler on my early '91 250, and usually see about 1150 degrees EGT under full load on long upgrades - wonder how this might compare with other Banks users?

Gary, I have a 92 D350. Before I replaced the 160 motor with the 215 motor the higest EGT I ever seen was 1250 pulling GVW @ 35,950lbs up Mt. Shasta, in N. Cali. Even with the 215 I "normally see a max of 1150-1200. Bear in mind I work this truck very hard. Is your probe pre or post turbo? And is this pulling or unloaded? Have a great weekend, Mike

Gary-Sounds like you are pretty heads up with regard to EGT. Banks says to get your foot out of it when you get to 1290. Personally, I think this is too high. I have the same setup with bigger injectors and the pump turned up and I back off at 1150. It is easy to run the temp up if you lug the truck at all. If I drop a gear and keep my foot in it I get lower EGT, more RPM's , but usually the same performance. I run around 600 degrees at 70mph/on the highway here at 5000 feet. With the OEM intercooler I always seem to run the EGT to the max on steep grades under load.

Thanks for the replies guys - and David, my heat sensor is pre-turbo, in the exhaust manifold just before the turbo flange.
