A few months ago, I installed an isspro pyrometer Pre turbo. I was shocked to see that with my milage miser 50hp chip I was reaching up to 1500 degrees pulling hills at full throttle empty. I took out the chip, and it only made about a 100 degree difference. towing my toy hauler without the chip I can reach 1400 pretty easily pulling hills. Half the people I ask, say this is normal for an 05, and the other half say I should never be over 1100-1200. any suggestions?

05 it is normal. Factory out of the box, stock will get 1400* with out trying. I have had no problem at all, I have run 1400*+ many times with out a box. I have very steep grades all over and pull them daily with a load.

Second for the Smarty. My Smarty Jr lowered my egt's 200+ degrees. Plus I am seeing a 1. 5 mile per gallon increase. Great product.

With the Smarty I am seeing no decrease on EGTs or increase in fuel mileage. but it does put the power down and black out the sky when hammered...

a good air filter and a modded box and either a boost fooler or something like a smarty jr will do woncers for egts. i hit 1300 on only the hardest pulls so far and when it was all stock it would hit 1450 easy.

are you running the newest software release? Thanks
I am. Tonight I saw a minimum of 200* drop. Where I would hit 1400* before, tonight I barely broke 1100*. Some of that is probably due to my wastegate staying closed, but the Smarty is responsible for that too, I think.

And yes, it will darken the skies over central MN if I allow it.

Is the isspro pyrometer right? I just put one in my truck pre turbo. I have 60 hp injectors with a stock turbo and I can get 1200 degrees when I hammer on it. Pyrometer goes up and down with my throttle. Is this normal for isspro ev2 gauge? Or is it just reading the heat from the extra fuel?
