Installed Boost and EGT gauges today. Driving around town, EGT runs between 350 and 800 degrees. Is this normal? Seems high to me but ?????. Thanks for any info. Larry

Pakrat,

Is your thermocouple in the exhaust manifold (pre-turbo), or the downpipe (post-turbo)?

It makes about a 300-350* difference in the displayed temps.

Post-turbo temps are lower.

It is in the Pre-Turbo location. Isspro gauges. What I didn't expect was the rapid differance in temp. From 300 to 700 when you accelerate then right back down to 300 again. Does that make any sense to anyone??? Larry

Yeah, Buddy:D

Them EGTs 'jes kinda jump right up there don't they.

Heck, mine jump from 300 to 1200+ empty on a hard acceleration.

Wait 'til the BOMBing bug strikes. :--)

Now the fun begins:D If the EGT needle's not moving faster than the boost gauge needle your not trying hard enough:-laf

:D Yep, sounds like you got it all hooked up ok and ready for lost of Oo. ;) :D :D . I know I now need a higher boost gage. I can peg out over 35 lbs of boost now, without even thinking about it. So we are looking for something in the 50 range. Enjoy yourself.

Thanks for all the info. Sounds like everything is OK. I'm new at this bombing game but it looks like it could be interesting!!! And expensive!! Again, thanks a bunch !!!!! Larry
