Buddy of mine has an 02 qc 3500 4x4 with a flat bed and tool boxes- He is running a Comp(not tapped) on 1x5, 275RV's and an AFE intake (not PG7). the truck is a 5spd with 3. 54 gears- He sees EGTs around 900 at 70mph- He thinks that is a little high- I think it is because of the 2200lb flatbed with 5-600 lbs of tools and a 70 gal fuel cell. What temps do you see @ 70?

Thanks in advance,

Tim

Your friends EGT's are about right for all the wieght he is hauling around. When I am on the highway @70mph with that much weight, my EGT's are right about the same if not higher. I don't worry about it, and he should'nt either.

Mine runs around 650-700 empty but when I hook up to my 5000lbs trailer 900f is the norm for a flat. any slight grade I'm usually around 1000. 6% grades usually hang around 1050-1100 with 25 lbs of boost. To me it may be a bit high but only 50-75F.
