I've just noticed that my EGTs are running much hotter than normal when towing. Now instead of pulling a moderate grade at 65+ Im having to back off to 50 to keep the EGTs below 1200. Since then i've changed the gas and air filters and this helped some but Im still running hot. Over the weekend i noticed that i couldn't get my Boost past 15 even when stepping on the gas and pushing up my EGTs. What are the possible problems and how do i best trouble shoot this? Im thinking the turbo might be shot or my injectors are bad. Either way im really getting some excessibe black smoke. Leaving for Reno in two weeks and i need to get this solved before towing the horse up over tahoe.

What they said... Check intercooler boots; if they're intact, check your intercoooler.

Same thing happened to me on a Ford I put an Edge Evolution this weekend. Old truck, new power and boost... . poooooof! 7-year old intercooler boot couldn't handle the new-found boost pressure...
