Depends?

How long are you running at that temp? If its short bursts your fine. If your towing and holding it there your on the bubble.

Well dyno runs, dragstrip runs are definatly short.

I'd say 20 to 30 secs or less you'll be just fine. As long as your not towing up a grade holding it there.

A "bigger" turbo will add to the fun factor tho.....

What are you using it for and how long is it like that?

Sorta like Kat said,

If you're towing like that I would worry. Hitting it for a few seconds is nothing to worry about at all.

How much more power will you want? (hard question isn't it)

My cure-all answer lately is the B1, I'm tickled with it. You can tow and drag with it. Kat proved the drag part. several have been towing with it. I'm gonna do both.

I don't like the HX40s. To many failures. So far the B1 is bullet proof (knocking on wood).

there's more than one right answer to this one.

1300 is child's play,I can hit 1600 easy on 5/5:eek: . I dont do it much,but i have run 14 seconds at a time 1/4 mile runs,I need a bigger turbo.

You guys posted while I was typing last time...

Save your money on a turbo until you are sustaining hi temps.

Your truck should be lots of fun after the transmission.

EGTs

I tow a 7000lbs car trailer everyday but not on 5-5 setting keep it on 2-5 when towing 5-5 when playing with powersmokes. I guess B1 is next before bigger injectors.

I have a question...

See sig for bombs... I have dynoed @ 412hp and the most EGT's I can hit are 1450 (pre-turbo) with my foot in it and Comp on 5-5. (boost gauge pegged @ 35psi) I have not tried a 5-5 WOT run up hill, so EGT's may be higher in that instance. Am I in the minority here? At this point, I see no reason to upgrade my turbo above the PDR HX-35.

Any comments?

Do you really want another 50+hp?? stupid question, huh.

Would you like to be able to tow with 400hp?(400*lower EGTs)

Would you like to stop watching EGTs all together?

Would like to have that warm fuzzy feeling that comes from a 60psi(600+hp) capable, bullet proof turbo just in case you get the itch?

I'm done being a smart a$$ now... all in good fun.

Really, It's way more fun than an HX## by anybody. Its very capable and brother-in-law/wife proof.

You'l love it.

Mark

Edited : to restore orginal post.

Hey now Diesel Freak, that was a low blow...

I dynoed on the same dyno that you did in Tacoma and have witnesses & a printout... Are you saying that the dyno was being a little friendly to me?? :D You are starting to make me paranoid. hehe :D

Crap!

Mark - I was replying to your post and I guess I hit the edit button instead of reply! Sorry!!! I fixed it... .

Careful with that statement. Even Kurt will tell you he liked his KwikSpool. And I agree..... I went B1 for durabilty purposes. I am hoping his AT4 is more up my alley. Don't take this post the wrong way I like the B1... it does everything he said it would rather well.

I'm sure that the HX40s are fun... You're right Kurt likes 'em too. I don't like gambling with my turbo. . So, to me they are not worth the risk.

A Lot of people have good luck and longevity with them. Murphy wrote those laws for ME. I'd break it in short fashion.

I like blindly mashing the go pedal without worry... :D:D
