Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) EGT's with new turbo/4"exhaust

My 99 2wd 2500 ext cab has the 275 injectors and the TST powermax 9 with a bhaf. I liked the get up and go but egts above level 3 were over 1300. I got a new HX40 from Piers and installed it with a 4" exhaust and hot dam even more get up and go. Also I have seen peak egt's 150-200 degrees lower. Now level 6 runs at 1340 (peak). I had been told that these "enhancements" would not lower egt's. Oh the new sound is AWESOME. Oo.

I hit 1400 degrees now and I cant wait to get my HX-40 to lower my EGTs. Will I have to go to 4 inch exhaust with this turbo? Thanks

Yes, 4" exhaust~~

The down pipe for the HX40 is 4" so if you don't use a 4" exhaust you will have to reduce it down to your exhaust size. Piers includes all the gaskets and a new 4" downpipe with his turbo.

Thanks for the info. Lets see $1200 for turbo, $500 4" exhaust,$700 edge comp box. How am I gonna explain this to the wife? LOL

Lets see-injectors $400, exhaust -$600, turbo-$1280, Tst powermax 9 $1000, Transmission work-$2100, Bigger tires and wheels-$1200 ( 16x8 with Pirrelli Scorpion 285-65-16)- Putting the pedal to the floor-Priceless.
