Have you done anything to your truck powerwise? I ask because those temperatures seem a bit high. How much weight are you towing?

i have the same problem even with the HX35 and a straight piped exhaust and open airbox. just running around empty i can hit 1000*f easily, if i really get into the pedal i can hit 1500*f just under acceleration with no-load, why so high??

Well what are your boost levels at those EGT levels? Thats a key ingredient to the equation here. The reason it is high is because you have a "fueling" box, which will always raise EGT's considerably.

Ooops... Somehow my sig did not show up that had the specs on my truck.

I have a 2001 4x4 3/4 ton automatic. Banks Powerpack, DTT T/Q and VB. The turbo is a 9 cm.

Can I change to the 12cm turbo?

Yep. You can also try a free flowing air breather like a drop in K&N, or get a psychotty system to help drop it down a good 100-200 deg. That small housing on the turbo isnt doing you any favors in the cool dept. If you could get a boost module to raise the boost to around 35 that would also do you alot of good in the situation you are in Hope this helps.

I have the K&N. Max boost is around 38lbs.
If I go to the 12cm housing will I lose any bottom end? What will be the performace differances.

Hello everyone,
I am a new mwmber but long time lurker... #ad

I am not sure what range of EGT's everyone else is gettting into but I feel that mine is a bit high when towing. Usual freeway driving I average 800 unless I really put my foot into it. Then I can hit 1300 like nothing. Is this normal. When towing I have to keep an active eye on the pyrometer of else I will exceed 1300.

I have the small turbo (9cm) Will change the turbo help?

Thanks

Jonz
