Why a 4" system that will cost $300. 00-$700. 00 when you could get a muffler elimination pipe from www.genosgarage.com for under $70. 00 bucks, or take your truck down to the exhaust pro shop and have them put a straight through muffler on instead of the one you have for half the price of a inexpensive 4" system.

You don't need a 4" system unless your going to go into big HP numbers or you tow real heavy in the mountains with power upgrades.

EDIT:: An old saying just came to mind that I haven't heard in a long time,

For me it was all about the sound..... true 4" sounds 10x better then straight 3".

Janetty if you want it queit at idle, but loud on the throttle

Diesel Dynamics if you want it to be pronounced all around.

YEAH!

Diesel Dynamics if you want it to be pronounced all around.

Actually my trailer only weighs 4000 or so but with the stock exhaust I had to keep a close eye on the EGT.

Now even on the steepest longest grades it never goes over 900*

I hope DD lowered their price but I can't fault the system, I'm very satisfied.

ronsram... .

The only reason I don't want the Geno's muffler elimination kit is it doesn't get rid of my Cat. I want everything that is bigger than the pipe to go away:D

24V-DSL, thanks for the help, just wanted to make sure before I went and ordered a system.

For me it's also all about the sound.

Quick question, how does the Bully Dog's sound compare to the others you have run or heard? I have the Bully Dog on my 2002 and fairly satisfied with the sound, but I have never heard any of the other 4" systems on the market to compare sound.

Its "ok" but personally I would run the Diesel Dynamics after all I have heard and run. Its just all around "pronounced". The JRE system is also nice (I had it). Currently running Bullydog, have heard Jardine, Rip's, and some 5" (I think BullyDog). I'd rate the BullyDog 3rd on the list of sound (in my opinion).

Of course everyone likes different things. If your happy with how it is just stick to it, much cheaper that way.

Kat,

Any idea which mufflers DD and JRE use? I'm sure that's what makes the sound differences.

I don't remember off top of my head, I do know the JRE system uses a Walker muffler of some sort, just don't remember the model number. Lemmie dig through old emails and see if I can come across it.

JRE

I am very pleased with my JRE, very easy install, perfect fit, sounds great, improved performance. Good luck on your decision. :D

My DD exhaust has the Walker 21471 that Joe D. mentioned. It's more like a silencer (straight through) than a muffler, but it sounds good
