Evening all,

I cannot eject disc #5 from my 6 disc Infinity changer. Nor will it play. Nothing. I'm kinda getting tired of working around it.

Anybody have any ideas?

Thanks -

Steve

Gary,

Don't think the dealer will bite on that. Just about 77k on the clock now.

I hit the eject button every couple of days and see what happens. Maybe someday it will cooperate.

Yeah - I kept hoping the same thing - I hate letting the greasy-fingered "garage monkeys" mess with my vehicles - but after a couple of weeks of trying, I gave up and let 'em have at it. Actually, it was quite fast and easy, they did a great job, and sent a note to the repair facility to return the CD's inside the player, which they did. They actually installed a new radio/player, instead of simply repairing the old one.

A friend of mine had a disc stick in his single disc radio in his Magnum. It wouldn't eject and it wouldn't play. After a few times of trying to play, it would revert to the radio. I asked him if he had given the dash a good 'whack' yet. He told me he didn't really see how that would help. I hit the eject button and about a second later smacked the dash right above the player with the side of my fist and out popped the CD. Would it work in every instance? Probably not. If you haven't tried it yet it would be worth a shot. Make sure you find an area that will allow you to get a good smack that translates through the dash to the radio.

I had a similar issue in a Ford 6 disc changer, I wrapped a credit card in saran wrap, slid it in the slot and kinda jimmied it out. I don't know if it will work on the Dodge unit, but it's worth a try.

Maybe just a little whack with a 16lb sledge? It's about at that point now.

Perhaps I'll just have to break down and give the dealer a call. Gotta get the rear quarter fixed where the trailer hit it anyhow. But thats a story for another day.....

Thanks all for the suggestions.

The "whack" technique has been working for me. Mine has some trouble going to the next CD and ejecting once in a great while. I just hit right above the head unit from the top and all is fine for six months or so. Good luck
