P. S. -You just answered a question the Brad and I had beeing trying to get a answer on,LOL.

Im running 4 9" Zirgo fans on my Dakota and have never had a heating problem. These fans are extremely reasonably priced. Just thought id throw in my $. 02

I have been runing there dual monster electric fans since last year sled pulling with no issues, same CFM looks like, different then on a daily driver though.

You can see it in this pic, fabed the brackets that came with there universal kit.

Scott. .

The Monster Fans you show here, when you installed them, did they cover the entire radiator surface(top to bottom/side to side)or did you have to fab up any shroud at all?. How was the front engine clearance any issues if they are used on daily drivers?... Andy

I contacted Flex-A-Lite about replacing the mechanical fan with their new electric models for diesels. They warned me that their fan will not work if the vehicle will do any "heavy towing. " They limit the fan's cooling ability to about 18,000 lbs of consistent gross weight including a loaded trailer. They say the stock Cummins clutch fan will move about 12,000 cfm when locked up. I'll just pull my fan off during colder months.

Andy, its pretty close but nothing to worry about once you remove the stock fan hub but then you need a shorter belt. You can see from the pictures it’s about 2" shy on each side with the shroud it comes with. You can also see How I modded the brackets that came with it so as to not have to go through the Rad its on there pretty good with the four stock bolt holes used plus the bracket I made on top to support weight as well. Also remember this one doesn't have a place for your overfill and washer bottles. I couldn't wait last year I was asking when it was coming out and they couldn’t give me answer hence my going this route. You’re better off with the new one for a daily driver.

"They limit the fan's cooling ability to about 18,000 lbs" LOL I shouldn't have sled pulled with it I guess j/k :-laf

With all respect, the heat load from a brief sled pull is quite different from a 7 mile pull up a 6% grade with a 13' tall 5th wheel in tow at a GCW of 23,000+ pounds. I tried the electric fans on my 1996 3500 (Flex-a-Lite Model 350 dual pullers) - their 50 amp draw produced only 0. 8 HP which couldn't move enough air to cool the engine in a heavy towing application.
