When we purchased our '96 P/U we chose to get the regular seats rather than the 6-way electric adjustable. We were very happy for several years. This past year we acquired a used Jeep Grand Cherokee and on a long trip the electric seats have really spoiled us. :D :D :D

Has any one changed their standard seats for electric ones in the trucks. ??? Where can I find a pair of electric seats? What all is involved in the exchange ?

Any and all suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Unless your Bill Gates than you will probably need to go to a junkyard to get a 40/20/40 power seat. Even then be prepared to spend over $600 bucks depending on condition. I must confess that I wouldn't be without power and heat too..... call me spoiled. :D You would have to run power under the carpet but that shouldn't be too hard. Good luck. :)

I asked a few years back at the junkyard, "how much for that power seat?" $100, but it was covered with blood. Junk yard dude said all I needed was the bottom part, that a non electric seat would fit right on top. I already had power seats and didn't go for it so I'm not sure if this is true.

I think you are right... mine has it, even though, one of the motors does not work anymore, so I just pulled the plug... I ended up BOMBING my seat about 2 weeks ago, and remember why I fell in love with this Big Bad Black Billy Goat! Hehe, I lucked out, found my truck 2 years ago, and the only options it does not have, is Auto (Dont like autos anyway), a Beer window, 4x4, Cab lights, and 4 Wheel ABS... . It has everything else though, and I got it for next to nothing!!

Too bad you don't have a brand new truck cause i would trade you, I didn't want power seats on my truck one reason is they where almost a 400$ option but they didn't have any other trucks equipped the way i wanted so i ended up with the power. I always keep mine all the way down in every setting and the lumbar support actually hurts my back. I had power seats in a '94 1/2 ton as a work truck and everytime someone got in it they would always jack with the seat made me:mad:
