Got a question about the electric trailer brake wiring that is part of the trailer tow package. I don't have a trailer brake controller, so what happened seemed kinda strange. I borrowed a cargo trailer (equipped with electric brakes) from my church. It has a 6 pin round plug so I bought a 7-to-6 round adapter so I could plug it into my truck. I checked to make sure the wires were all correctly connected through the adapter. Since I don't have a brake controller (yet) I figured I would have the lights and not the brakes. When I went to take off, the trailer brakes were locked up solid. I remedied the problem by disconnecting the brake control wires inside the 7-to-6 adapter. Question is, why are the trailer brakes locked up when I don't even have a brake controller. BTW, not having the trailer brakes hooked up isn't a big deal because I won't be loading it that heavy anyway.
Thanks for the help in advance,
Lance
