I have a 2000 4X4 regular cab 2500 cummings

I had my truck washed the other day at the car wash and when it came out several of the electrical systems had stopped working.

List:

Cab Light

Radio

Truck Bed light

Reading lights

Power Mirrors

All of these things where working when it went into the Car wash.

I took the truck to my local dealer , they could not find the problem and would have too keep my truck to diagnose it. As the first thing they did was order and replace a fuse to my power windows..... MY POWER WINDOWS where not broke... so I took my truck back and have been driving it around without music or mirrors.

I have had trouble with our dealer being incompitent here in our small town before, so I thought I would post here, to see if anyone had any Ideas. I have already replaced all the fuses to no avail.

wow, I went and check the fuse as requested and yes , it was blown, put a new one in and everything works.

The dealer had told me they replaced all those fuse on the side of the dash... and I know they replaced the Power window fuse, even though they work because I picked the fuse up when it came in on order and put it where they told me too myself... because I did not wnat to pay them. That is how I found out it was a Power window fuse. Never going back to Crown Motors again.

These are the same people who when I took my honda civic in for a good tune-up , I got back an 800 dollar bill and a car that did not work.

You might want to check the rear bed cargo light, they are notorious for leaking in the rain, let alone a pressure car wash. The water leak might have caused a temporary short.

Even though mine wasn't leaking I still took it off, cleaned it and sealed it with silicone.

Good luck

Good point. I had thought about water getting in that same place, and I know water conducts and screws up electronics and spark plug wires and such. Just don't remember seeing a 10 A fuse blow because of it. Might have to perform a little experiment tonight... :D
