I just installed my Ham Radio transceiver in my new 07 and there seems to be a lot of noise getting to the radio. Has anyone tried any specific products to suppress this noise. Most of what I read about refers to a gas engine. I had the same radio in a 99 and with time I got the noise reduced pretty well. However, when I traded I forgot to remove all the extra stuff I had installed for noise suppression and am now starting from scratch again. Any suggestions on noise reduction would be appreciated and will probably save me some time. Thanks, Ancient Mariner

What type of noise are you getting?

Is is engine or road speed dependent?

Do you have any aftermarket stuff added like an Edge box?

I had a problem in my '01 with my VA box creating a bunch of noise on my ham radio, very bad on 146. 580. I but a couple of large farrite cores on the cable coming out of the VA box and that seems to have fixed it.

I may have narrowed it down to a transformer in front of the house. I didn't realize it but I'm getting about the same noise level with the engine on or off. I also remembered that I had put a capicator across the lift pump to suppress noise from it. The new truck I think the fuel pump is in the tank so will have to think about how to handle that. I have used the ferrite coils on the power leads to the radio. Thanks. Ancient Mariner
