Have been noticing some eletrical noise in the form of a whine when I am listening to my Sirius radio, which is 95% of the time. Its an after market addon radio, Starmate I think is the name. I do not get the noise with regular radio that I can tell. The whine goes up/down with engine speed so I suspect the alternator as the source. Alternator charges fine. The noise is really only audible on talk stations or between music, cant hear it when music is playing, probably cause I play it too loud, :-laf

It there any kind of a noise filter that can be added to either the Siruis unit or between the alternator and the siruis? Any one else experience this? any info would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Try re-routing your antenna wire and your wires between your satellite receiver and your radio away from any wiring loom loom you may be close to.

OK I can try that, my current routing is through the 3rd brake light, over the head liner down driverside A pillar under dash to the unit mounted under my radio.

OH I should mention too that the sirius is hard wired to my head unit I dont use the FM modulation feature

If its in the antenna wire it might be against somthing under the dash because the factory one runs pretty much the way you say that you ran yours. If it is in the power wire i know they make filters for cb radios that you should be able to wire in there.
