Recently I noticed in the evening that my headlights and dome lights dim for a few seconds then get bright again. I first thought this was the grid heater cycling on and off, but one night I came home from a 35 mile highway trip in the evening and stopped the vehicle with the engine running and noticed it again. It was approximately 45 degrees outside and wouldn't think the grid heater was needed. I have a friend with a 2000 model with the same situation occurring. I tried to meter the grid heater once when this was occurring but didn't notice any voltage there. Is this the grid heater cycling? Thanks for any info.....

fluctuation...

I noticed mine last night doing the same thing. Were in the 40's here. i thought I had a charging problem... .

I noticed the same with my truck. The interior lights and the headlights dim and brighten almost at random. My wife has a dodge intrepid that does the same thing. Seems to only be at idle in the morning, when cold. I've written it off as another dodge anomaly that i'll have to live with.
