I want to wire up my PIAA 510 fog lights using their wire bundle as supplied with the lights. But I want to use my factory installed fog light switch as the trigger, so which wire do I tap into & where?. Can in be done from under the hood?. I have the 2001 service manual but Iam not very good at reading the wiring diagrams. My truck is a 2001 ETH. Thanks, Gary.

When I replaced my front bumper I put on different driving lights and wanted them run off the factory switch like you are talking about, there is a plug right behind the front bumber that runs to them, if you are taking your old ones out you can just reuse that plug and if you are keeping them, then you can splice right into it there. I used a relay and mounted the relay right up by the battery, worked very well. Hope that helps, the plug I am talking about on mine was on the drivers side basically right behind where the fog light was originally.

When I replaced the factory fogs in my 98 with the Catz lights, I took the old bulbs out, remove the glass and soldered the wire harness from the Catz's to the bulb posts on the orginal bulbs. Taped it all up and ended up with "factory style" connectors for the Catz lights.
