Was sitting at home last night when I heard my truck beep its horn on and off a few times. Walked out and doors were locking and unlocking, lights coming on and off once in awhile. Dash lights and guages going nuts, fuel pump kicking on and off along with noises from engine area turning on and off, etc.

Went to start truck and both batteries dead. Drove truck on monday with no problems. Found this problem thursday eve.

jumped truck and it start but all the above continued and when I went to shut it off it stayed running. Had to pull battry cables.

Charged batts and still same problem once I hooked them back up today. So there unhooked.

Anybody had this happen? I bypassed the tst box already. Could it be remote starter causing these problems? I have a appointment for that monday to see it thats it. Or main computer taking a ****?

Any help would be great

You mentioned remote starter. I guess it may be a place to start, if you have anti-theft when you "click" to lock and the remote start tries to start it could be setting the alarm and screwing things up. I just don't get the doors locking and unlocking and all the other craziness? ? ? Try disconnecting the power lead to the remote start and manually lock each door to see if it continues. I'd say take to dealer but you are probably "your own warranty station", I'm guessing?

After doing some digging around today I found the remote start box has falling apart so the circuit board probably touched the metal and caused all the problems. Leaving it the way it is so the company that installed it can have the responability!

UPDATE... .

After removing remote starter all problems still present

p2509 Power down data loss..... pulling cables to shut truck off

p0193 Fuel pressure sensor voltage to high

p0192 Fuel pressure sensor voltage to low

p0237 Map sensor voltage to low

Decided even though TST was by passed I would complete remove it... ... Well after removing it from the truck all problems went away that was in first post.

But now I have a...

P0193 Fuel pressure voltage to high and quite a bit of timing rattle.

Also my auto meter fuel pressure gauge does not work anymore but there is fuel pressure as I can here the pump. I also noticed my brake control is no longer lit up when I touch the brakes.

Please tell me what you would check next and where.

The code I'm reading P0193= Fuel Rail Pressure sensor to high. You would need to fine out how high the volts are coming out of sensor. I would guess and say the FRP sensor sends info(in form of volts) to the ECM.

With everything going haywire this sensor mite of bit the dust. With reading to high the ECM probably is cutting back on rail pressure causing the engine not to run right.

Do you have an alarm on truck? Did the TST mess up any wires or connetors?

There has to be a common factor to cause all those things to happen at once.

Thats whats driving me nuts is what caused it. Where do I check the volts of this sensor? Truck seems to run fine at idle except for the amout of timing rattle but at least it shuts off with the key now. As for burnt wires? I smelt something but have not located where.

You mite need a wiring diagram for that year truck. The sensor should only have two to three wires connected to it. One, would be the input wire (juice coming in 5 volts if same as 12 valves sensors) two, ground, three the output wire, the volts would vary on it according to rail pressure. You would need to find out the volts it should be sending. I would imagine it would send less than 5 volts.

Thank you. I will check that out also. I left batts hooked up last night so I will see if its dead or alive today. With easter that about all I will have time to check today.

Thanks again for the help!
