I have moved a wire from the front of my diesel engine, the colour is black with a tan or grey stripe this wire is 8 gauge, I was informed that this would resolve the shuttle shifting problem has anyone else done this and if so did it resolve the problem also is this the main grounding wire for the vehicle? Thanks for your assistance.

Yeah there is a pretty bad group of grounds on these trucks. Did you break the splice and replace the factory mess?

There is an article in the TDR about this issue, I don't have the exact link, it could be in the buyers guide or the perfect collection articles?

But Alternator noise is part of this wiring fix, that is also in the play at times with thus vintage truck.
