Has anyone found any type of electronic high idle box or controller for a '03/'04 with a manual transmission? My idle "stick" doesn't do a real great job and I want to get something that I can switch on/off easily for cold months. I know in the DMax that you just need to ground a couple pins in the ECM to get different high idle speeds, but it seems that the Dodge/Cummins doesn't have that ability with the dodge electronics. I know there are a couple people that make boxes already for the '03/'04 but it is only for use with the automatic transmission.

I have also sent a message to the boys at Edge to see if this is something that they could possibly program into their new Juice/Attitude since they are already messing around in the ECM/PCM. I think that would be a pretty cool feature if they choose to do it.

the dealership that I bought my 04 installs them most(if not all) of there new trucks. I'm not possitive if they are in the manuels, but I would assume so. Mine is getting put in next week hopefully. I think it is a piece together system that one of there techs came up with. I've played with a few, and they work great.

tdr member hbowers [harold] makes a fast idle device for 2nd gen 24v's and 3g trucks. works great with the flick of a switch and reasonable cost at 45 bucks plus s&h

ive had harolds fast idle device on 4 different rigs and it works great

Muddy, I have sent harold a PM. I hope he gets back to me soon.

Slinse, can you find out the details of their device or find out who I could talk to at your dealership. I work here on the north slope, so maybe they could send one out to me before I go home!

Maybe a variable reostat (rotary knob) on the dash tapped into APPS (TPS) line? ;) I'm sure ther are some sharp electronics guys that could figure that one out.

I gotta go pick up my truck at the dealer tommarrow. I'll see what I can do. I bet it is something you can purchase parts from radio shack and install for next to nothing. I''ll report back!!

I am an automation engineer here at the Northstar facility (offshore). I have been working here about 2 years. Where are you going to be working at?
