Electronic Idle Controller-Where can I get one?

Well I posted this earlier but I guess maybe I titled it wrong, and since I can't edit the Topic Line I figured I would start up a new one. Maybe this one will get more action #ad


Would also like to take this time to thank everyone who has ever answered my posts and questions, this truely is a wonderful source of information.

I am curious and interested in something called Electronic Idle Controller? Where can I get one and exactly how does it work?

Basically I wanna start up the truck set it to idle at 1250 RPM and let it warm itself up so that when I get on the highway I am closer to operating temp.

Anyone know how I can accomplish this? Website with info on it? Surely someone knows something so share it with me! #ad

I use my combination idle control ice scraper snow brush. #ad
I place it between my seat and the go pedal and adjust the electronic idle control on my seat #ad
and viola #ad
truck warms up and I go for coffee.

Do a TDR search for "fast idle" in the products forum. I just did it and I find many references to the electronic idle controller along with user feedback.

I just went back and looked at all of those old threads too. My question is this: Did anybody ever come up with any ECM interface or other electronic or electric interface. I think flipping a switch is the cool way to go. I don't have my truck yet #ad
, but if the ECM has the fast idle built in, is it not just a matter of trying to wire in a switch? Or is it more complex than this?

I am going to need a fast idle on my truck when I put it in service (lots of idling during the work day), so just looking for any new information.

THE ECM does indeed have a fast idle. My understanding is that you can thank DC for eliminating it. The normal ISB ECM has two 50pin plugs, as our's has only one. Guess which one brings out the fast idle??

I'd love to hear that I am wrong but doubt it as I did alot of research on this about a year ago.

MARCO, from Italy speaks of adding a circuit to the TPS which can kick up the idle. I am fearful of messing with that circuit, as it is the fly-by-wire throttle circuit.

Best way seems to be a homemade throttle cable or the expensive box that uses most of the cruise control components to kick up the idle.

Or get the ESPAR fuel powered heater (as I did ) and leave your truck off!!

Diesel Services Group has a electronic fast idle that you are looking for. It works off the cruise control. Do a search and you will find them ,if not e-mail me and I will get their phone number for you.
