Eliminate The Central Axle Disconnect On 4x4

Attention: TDR Forum Junkies
To the point: Click this link and check out the Front Page News story(ies) where we are tracking the introduction of the 2025 Ram HD trucks.

Thanks, TDR Staff

Tell me about the DT trackbar

Is it dangerous to mix different tires on a truck?

Anyone of you wheelers have an interest in eliminating the Central Axle Disconnect (C. A. D. ) system. The benefit of doing such a change on the axle is to allow a customer to unlock the front end via a Warn hub set which in turn will give you better fuel economy due to less drag.

There is a kit for Dodge 2500 and 3500 Ram 4x4 with the D60 front axle.

Just curious as to how many would be interested.

Is this the Dyna-trac system? I know it's $$$$, but they make good stuff. If not, I'm interested in hearing about it.

I am interested. If the vacuum actuator had quit working where I was today,I would still be there. A long way from anywhere.

I`m interested, I`ve been saving up for the Dyna-Trac System. But I don`t need a bullet proof system just something that will stand up to normal use.

im lucky as my 02 eth-dee has no vacumn garbage on the dana-60.

i am very interested in adding free-wheeling hubs, dependant on cost

Out of curiosity... what are the pro's and cons of a system like this?

I don't do any off-roading, but being that it snows here in CO... I need to insure that I have my 4wd.

How will this system affect using 4hi? I guess I don't understand it's purpose... can someone help me understand?

hey Dieselmiester. . very interested ... to rid ourselfs of the damnn vaccume system would be great. . it would have to price out V/S duration of ownership.

BUT the real question here is what did they say about a rearend set up for the Red Rocket

For those into 4 wheeling, many refer to Dynatrac as, "dynarape" since they're very expensive. They make good axles, but I don't believe they're necessarily better than what a good custom axle builder can use. I got my custom D60 axles made in Houston which are better quality than Dynatrac for less money. For example, Dynatrac uses pipe tubing for their tubes. I used CrMo tubes for my axles.

I'd be interested if the price was reasonable.

I want to get rid of the vacuum disco alright... ... but I also want to get rid of that stupid casting that splits the axle tube in 2-and a reverse rotation gearset would be nice... ... and oh yeah I can't go any wider or I'm gonna have wheelwell contact issues! Pretty much spells custom axle for me-but I'm still interested in what you've got up your sleeve Nowel. Talk to you about it in Calgary!
