Email bouncing?

Got this in my alerts just now:

Email notifications disabled due to email bouncing.

Any idea what causes this? No issues with my email that I'm aware of.

Interesting... I last received an email notification at 4:17 pm today.

Did not receive an email notification for you reply over 1-1/2 hrs ago...

Seems the forum software turned off all my email notifications. I need to unwatch individual threads and then watch them again with email notification to restore. Ugh...

After a "hard bounce" the Xenforo forum software shuts off further emails to an account so it doesn't keep trying to send to those accounts. If it did that too much it can get flagged as a spammer because many spammers buy old mailing lists and send to lots of shut down old accounts.

Xenforo requires you revalidate a working email and then it will start emailing again. I don't think it requires re-watching threads, but not 100% sure on that. I know it's a pain, I've had it do it to my own account in the past.

Google had a massive problem yesterday with their services.
I wouldn't change to many of your email settings till they are fully back online.

Unless the forum software does it magically, all my email notifications were wiped out.
