Interesting thing happened tonigh while relocating a pesky racoon.

After dropping my prisoner off in his new country of exile (30 miles and across the river) I started for home. I had to make a 90 degree right turn and then up a steep incline through a small town. Lots of very slick ice. I pulled into 4 wheel hi at about 4 mph and moved over to the right to grab into some piled up hard frozen slush for traction.

Every thing was going good for about 10 seconds and then all of a sudden I get the emergency brake lite and the ABS light on at the same time  I reached down and checked the emergency brake by pulling the release with nothing noted in the way of a release pop, indicating that it was in-fact off. Once to the top of the grade and on the flats I disengaged the 4 wheel drive.

No faults or problems noted on the Roadrelay 4 info center.

The lights remained on for about 7 miles until I could find a flat level wide spot in the road to pull over. I shut everything down and flipped the key over 3 time to check for codes. Nothing there either. Restarted the truck and the lights came back on just as before:confused:

Shut down again and checked the Roadrelay again and the fault codes on the odomenter. Once again nothing. Started up and the both lights remained lit. Decided that I would have to live with it till I got home which was another 20 miles. Started to roll forward and at about 5 mph everything went out like there was never a problem

Sooooooooo, anybody out there have any ideas:( My mind is very curious as to what took place and why.

Thanks in advance for taking time to read this.

I had something similar, I had the cruise light coming on whenever I had 4x4 engaged. Took the dash apart and there is printed circuit board throughout alot of the display area. I had one wire path that had split in two so half was keeping the original track intact and the other half was curled off and touching another path. Snipped off the curled piece and used some super glue around the edges of the other and put it all back together and all is fine. Now that was about a year and half maybe two years ago. Just yesterday the cruise light quit coming on. Cruise still works but no light on the dash indicating it is on. Once the weather warms up I will pull it and check things out again.

You might check the wires going into the rear axle and front brake sensors. Ice and snow may have torn them loose. One other thing, isn't Orygun the proper spelling?:D

Just wondering. 1965 grad of Dallas High, Dallas, Orygun. (14 miles west of Salem). They named a town here in Tx after it. :--)

The proper spelling is "Oregon". I know there is a Dallas Oregon and then down the gorge there is "The Dalles". I just use the spelling Ore-gun cause I am one of those fellows that beleives in the right to bear arms, (not body parts). My 4 daughters were never too happy during their dating years cause I would ask to see who they were going out with. When they would ask why I had to meet the young man in question, my answer was that I like to know what the potential target looks like should the need arise. ;)
