. . anybody encounter a problem with the mounting bracket for the emergency (foot) brake tearing away from the sheet metal? The weld is still holding but the metal around it has a rip. Any ideas ho wto fix it?

Thanks..... gary

Parking Brake

Never heard of this problem before, would assume that the bracket is tearing away from the fire wall. No room, not a nice place to have to work on. If the mounting studs on the bracket are long enough, you may be able to sandwich a 1/8" plate either side over the damaged area. This would require removal of the pedal assembly but should be the easiest way to make a strong repair. A welded repair would be nice, but you would need to remove the carpet and plastic trim and protect all the wiring in the vicinity.
