Do any of you have an emergency power off that actually shuts the injector pump down? If so how did you wire it?

I need to add an external EPO switch and rather than just a battery disconnect I would like to have it actually shut the injector pump off (just in case)

Any suggestions?

on my turbo timer shut down I have a button via the SPA guage that I can push after I turn the key off that will shut the engine down and I thought Nowel had put one on the truck, but maybe he took it off or never put it on---it is a little red button that should be on the A pillar that looks a little different than the

SPA guage buttons---chris

There is just two buttons on the A pillar (the max recall) for each guage. I need to have a EPO switch mounted on the rear bumper to pass tech andrather than just have a battery disconnect that does nothing to kill the truck I would like to hook it up to kill the injector pump if I can.

There is an EPO switch on the center console panel in the cab but it only shuts off all the switches on that panel and does not kill the truck.

Has anybody found a decent pull-out type kill switch for truck pullers? The pull out being hooked to the sled by small cable in case of hitch failure. I've seen plenty of the old looped plug into a receptacle, but I want something cleaner looking. Any ideas?

What about something like the kill switch I have on my quad? I'm not too familiar with the requirements of your kill switch application, but this one works by shorting the circuit when the tether is pulled out. I'm not sure how you'd attach it, but you can get these off ebay for about 20 bucks and they stand up to mud and water very well...

I have the switch (just like the one you showed a link to Grey Wolf :D ) The thing is I want it to actually shut my pump down and kill the truck when it is activated. If I wire it to the battery it will not kill the engine. I was hoping somebody out there had already set up a kill switch that will do just that kill the engine.

Thanks for the replies ;)

if you wire the alt though a relay that will de-engize the alt it will kill the pump just like the key would painless wireing sells a kit you can get though summit or jegs George

I am not sure but on my 99 there is a 50 amp fuse in the main fuse block when pulled it shuts down the pump, You could wire in a pull to open switch set of contacts in series with one side of that fuse.

If your looking for a "just in case" shutdown then I think you should be looking at something shut off the air flow to the engine to protect from a runaway situation - for ex. from turbo oil. Shutting down the injection pump in this situation would still not shut down the truck - although an air kill would in all cases.

Steve is right on the air flow---but you could hook one up like I have and put it out back via a push button or switch--I should see the guy on Tuesday who made them up and I'll ask him what he could come up with--chris

Thanks Chris!!!!!

Would't a simple relay do the same thing? just wire the shut off solenoid up to the relay so that when the batteries are disconnected it also de-engergizes the solenoid...
