Just curious if anyone is running d r d diesel emission tune. Other forum's everybody doing full delete
Don't want to do that yet.
Heard lots of good thing about the gentleman that runs d r d. But can't bring myself to spend $100 to become a premium member to get information and pricing
Thank you

I don't know anyone running it but it absolutely will ruin the after treatment exhaust at an accelerated rate over the factory tune.

Adding fuel to make power = increased soot the dpf has to deal with = more active regens = worse fuel economy, longer sustained high EGT temps which taxes the engine, engine oil, turbo, cooling system while towing, etc.

You will also tax the SCR catalyst more by having to deal with more NOX, more DEF consumption, etc.

DRD recommends not adding the emissions compliant tunes to trucks with over 50k miles, I feel that comment is very telling. Personally I'd either go full deletes or just leave as is. The emissions compliant tunes really aren't doing the whole package any "favors" so to speak.

I agree, delete or leave it.

If I could go back and do it again I would swap the factory turbo for a fleece cheetah, an in take fleece pump, South bend clutch head studs, springs and rods and leave her be on the factory tuning but be happy with it.

Thought I responded to this already, sorry...

On a G56/68RFE truck you could push a AISIN tune for some added power, with clutch/trans upgrades, and that should work well within the design limits of the exhaust system. There is also some reduction to the EGR that would be good for longevity and reduce regens.

I monitor my active regens and so far they have all been at the 24 hour maximum time between regens, meaning the DPF is not filling at a rate that demands a regen. That means there isn't much to gain from tuning.

Would you really notice a difference without added fuel from a tuner?

With the upgraded lift pump you'd just notice full fuel pressure at all power bands Instead of drops in pressure.

My tuning I have now I get 19 city hand calc and 25hwy when empty at 75. I've put alot of work into this truck and it's showing but it's tuned for reliability and mileage not power. You can't have all 3.
