What are my chances of passing NYS emissions with EZ, 275 HP Injectors PDR Turbo and 4" exhaust?

Will it help or hurt to disconnect EZ?

To reduce opacity (soot), disconnect the EZ's CANbus data link cable, leaving the MAP sensor cables plugged in so that the EZ will function as a boost fooler. A 1 minute job.

Could you please explain this again for me in more simple terms as I need to get a test this week and was thinking I would disconect the EZ all together. Are you saying it's better to leave part of the EZ connected to the map sensor? Thanks for the help.

Tom

If you have modified the turbocharger wastegate function with a boost elbow, turnbuckle, etc. , then the boost produced when the throttle is floored on the dyno (assuming they do a dyno test that utilizes this regimen) would set an overboost code if the EZ were completely unplugged. The presence of the resulting "Check Engine" light would, in most states, cause the truck to fail the emissions test.

By leaving the EZ's MAP cabling in place, the EZ will still function as a boost fooler to avoid setting an overboost code in the ECM. Unplugging the CANbus data link cable will, however, disable the EZ's fueling functions that can produce more soot than stock.

Tom, look at the installation instructions for your EZ, it will tell you which cable is the MAP and which is the Data Link. Unhook the datalink and leave the MAP plugged in. Then when done plug the datalink back in.

You need to get the elbow, it's good for 5-6 psi of boost, makes a BIG difference!!! I ran mine both ways, no comparison! I did exactly what Rusty says to do when I had to E-Test mine.

Yeah, the boost elbow that comes with it, goes in the front of the turbo where the wastegate actuator hooks up with the rubber hose-lets the turbo build a little more boost before the wastegate pops off :D
