In Arizona, the only requirement for my 2007 6. 7 Ram is the Snap test. As far as I can tell, they don't even connect to the OBD connector. Why am I required to have all this extra emissions junk?

The emissions systems on these trucks reminds me of the 70's when they started using air pumps and egr on vehicles to reduce emissions. What a fiasco that was.

Just my ranting and raving about my truck. Hindsight says I would have never bought a truck with the 6. 7.

Lot's of folks here agree with you. Cummins, Dodge, and ISB6. 7 owners are forced to deal with all that crap because of a few left-wing looney political hacks in the federal government and EPA. A few are quietly removing the junk from their trucks, a few others have been fairly vocal about stripping it from their trucks. I guess each of us has to decide.

You can probably look at AZ's state inspection procedures on-line and determine what the law of your state requires.

If you travel in more restrictive states you could be subjected to inspection and testing even if your state doesn't require it.

If you experience any trouble codes or check engine lights related to emissions hardware or software and require a dealer visit it could become complicated. I don't know how dealers would handle it.

It will be interesting here in California. When they start the smog (emission) testing on diesels next year. Nothing more than a money revenue for California.
