Christmas Party

Co. Springs breakfast April 13-15th.

I need to get my truck tested and I guess Exhaust Readers is the only place to do it here in the Springs. I recently moved here from California and it's my first test. How friendly are the test facilities with power upgrades? It's a 12V so I can roll the star wheel back to cut the black cloud but right now my check engine light is on from the EGR system being "inoperable". I can fix that before the test but I also have a gov spring kit which will let it go over 3k rpm and I don't want them floating valves on their dyno. Thanks for any input.

They do an opacity test, so I would recommend powering down some. As to the light, if it is on, they won't even test you.

I don't know what to say about the floating valves.

As mentioned cut back your power, star wheel and the pump cover, slid it back a little. Your going to hate driving it but might do the job you want for now.

(Put a block under the pedal to limit the Rpm's)

Emissions and Diesels

They not only rev it up, quickly, they also drop the RPMs down to a lug! I think that is abuse but you dont have a whole lot of control over the testing procedure. Make sure your engine does not over fuel at low RPM's. GregH

If anyone is still following-I'm looking at getting a set of compound turbos (stocker w/ S475)-any idea how this will work with emissions testing? Does anyone have any experience with a seup like this?

06 QC LB SRW 50 HP DDP, S-06, Snows Boost cooler, CFM+, S&B intake, 4" CAT back exhaust.

Thanks all.

They don't care what you do, as long as all required (OEM) emissions equipment is still on the truck and it passes the load test. They will load it fully so make sure your trans can handle full power and wastegates work as they should.
