Empty new Ram sales lots!

I have noticed over the last few weeks that the new Ram sales lots have been displaying fewer and fewer new Rams. Has the Ram Factories been halting/reducing production to make room at the dealers for the new '18s? Today I noticed one of the lots was totally empty of new vehicles!

In general, the factory has to shut down to change over to the new year model. That stops deliveries to the dealers. Then, after the changeover they stockpile for a while till the announcement of the new model. They need lots built so all the dealers can get some new ones pretty quick once the announcement is made.

Perhaps the Ram 1500 '18s are due in August? They did announce a new top end 1500 last week.

Slim pickings at almost every new truck dealer around here regardless of brand. We have been doing some test driving in preparation for replacing our 1/2 ton. We are also noticing limited stock and the ones that are left aren't exactly equipped the way we would like.

I guess that this is a normal happening this time of year. Prolly the first time that I am aware of it.
