Archived Empty Tank

I ran my rig out of diesel. Put in 5 gallons and won't start. What are my Options. Thanks Ken

You're going to have to bleed the system of air before it will start. Start by cracking the injector lines and bumping the ignition (to run the lift pump only) until you start bleeding off fuel from the line. I can't remember but you might have to do this on more than one injector line.

It will be best if you loosen #1 and #3 injector lines, that will get most of the air out. You also loosen/remove 1/4" plug at fuel filter and when fuel starts leaking there, move on to lines 1 & 3 at the head. when you get fuel there then tighten and try and start.



It would also help if your parked with the front down hill. good luck

Also, when it finally starts, it will run rough for a while. As the air is bled out, the engine will smooth out. It will take about a minute or so.
