I called EMS to ask some questions and order a kit for my truck. The gentleman was very talkative. He told me they first built the kit as a joke to prove to Dynatrac they were over priced. They assembeled 10 kits took them to one show and sold out. Then they procceded to get calls constantly for the kit and now their joke has taken over. They sell out of the kits as fast as they can assemble them. Unfortunatly they are currentlyin the process of moving to a new building, but he thought they could get mine out to me Wednesday. With their customer service just in ordering I have a gut feeling they will be great to deal with in the future should I need help with it.

He asked me where I heard about them from and when I told him he replied that he had several peple cite us as his referance

They make a kit to change the unit style bearings the the old manual lock out style of yester year. The only special produced parts are the spindle, the shaft, and there was on eother part but I cannot remember right now.

EMS Offroad Custom 4x4 Fabrications
The spindle is not a special part, it is a redrilled ford spindle with holes that overlap. Supposedly the hub is custom made overseas.

Eric is nice and helpful. Just don't post anything negative about them because they will not answer your emails anymore. There seems to be many who are happy with the kit and its quality... maybe I was just unlucky and got the worst of their worst. Buyer beware.

They don't make a kit for the rigs that have the abs on the front, yet. Eric told me that when they get into their new building and more people that they most likely start building the kit for the abs rigs. They have to machine more off for the tone rings on the front to make it work. This information is about 8 months old.

Yes they do. The kits have a tone ring on the hub and mount the sensor to the spindle. I'll see if i can post a picture.

Pictures of the second side during my install. Note the sensor mount had to be modified for clearance with the hub. DRY FIT EVERYTHING FIRST! It is much easier to address issues before parts are installed on the truck!

Don’t forget the special lockout tightener / rattle stop tape! Also the tiny orings on the lockout bolts should not be lubed since they tend to slip out from under the bolt head.

brods... your lug bolts look so short. most pics i've seen for these kits show longer than stock lugs. i'm doing the dynatrac kit soon so i'm curious about every thing. what's up??

The studs on my conversion are slightly shorter ( very slightly ) Than OEM,
I did have a little concern at first ( Alum OEM Rims )
Nuts cover threads , but no extra thread showing.
Checked them when frequently when first installed,
But It has not been an Issue, Wheels never feel off. Nuts stayed tight, alls well...
About 13K miels now, I really like the conversation !,
1 less 'Found On Road Dead' item to worry about.

But as always, a back up plan ( 1 oem hub assemble, axle included )is carried as a spare ( along with other stuff,I travel a lot) When the hubs removed , The Hub nut was not removed,
the Hub was pulled with the stub axle attached, than inner axle
removed from Stub axle, ( Hub/Hub bearing/Stub axle is 1 asm. )

It's likely I won't have more info till end of next week. Like I said they are moving right now so I might be a little wait till it arrives, no big deal to me right now, so WD you may want to check back with Eric in a few weeks(Give them time to settle in) Just seeing the extra crap, the abs stuff, makes me happy to have a basic machine:D I was going to go to my parents to do the fix, but am thinking I might do it in the drive, rather than driving that far.

The studs are just long enough and look like they are maybe about 1/8" shorter compared to the rear wheels.
