I've talked to Tom at EMS Offroad about the hub kit for the 2-3gen trucks. They have had a tremendous amount of interest in this kit. They are assembling another batch, but there is about a two month wait on them now. Tom mentioned that when they get them back in stock, they will offer a TDR discount. This is just like the Dynatrac kit, but affordable. It has some nice features and is a complete kit. You can get a hold of Tom or Eric at 570-644-9151 or -- email address removed --

I have nothing to do with the company, just thought I'd pass along a great looking product.

Call em back and tell then if they make one with shorter hubs they'd have even more interest. i told them and dynatrac this and they said it was definately possible... ... . some more calls from interested parties might get it done. i'm sure i'm not the only one not making this swap because of the rediculously long hubs.

I could be wrong (it's happened before), but my understanding is that EMS uses 'some overseas' parts, unlike Dynatrac. Someone please correct me if I am wrong.

I AM very interested in doing this mod, just can't quite get the money together.

From another user: Do some research first. They are nice people, but their kit is more like something that do it yourselfers on any of the offroad forums cobbled together from various parts for other trucks. Plus they have a 20% restocking fee, so once you buy it you're stuck. If I could afford to I would scrap their kit and buy a Dynatrac kit in a heartbeat. The kit I got from them was very disappointing. Unless they have instituted some kind of quality control program to catch problems before they ship garbage out the door, think twice about going with their kit. I have a thread in the 3G forum where I tried to compare the differences between the EMS and Dynatrac kit. Good luck which ever way you choose to go.

I installed an EMS kit on mine, I picked up a solid 1 MPG.

When I inst. it I didn't see any poor quality or overseas parts. In other words I saw no Chinese/Taiwan stamps or packaging.

Re: Shorter hubs, I also think this would be an advantage cosmetically and the fact that protruding hubs are more vulnerable in rough and rocky terrain. There is also a big negative IMO.

In speaking with Tom at EMS about the possibility of shorter hubs, he said if they were to try to do something like this it would require them to inset the outer bearing closer to the inner bearing. This would creat exponentially higher stress on the outer bearings.

This wider bearing spacing is just one of major benefits(compared to the stock bearing packs) to consider regarding this kit.

Our trucks are front heavy and are known to have high failure rates due to the narrow spaced bearings in the stock bearing packs.

Aside from all that I have noticed that these hubs protrude approx. the same amount as the stock factory units Dodge installed in the 1990s. IMO they are kind of nostalgic looking.

After several thousand miles on mine, I really like them.
