Archived eng check light on

sorry for errors but first time on the tdr.

a friend of mine has a 2001 ho 6 speed . while installing a banks exhaust brake and splicing into the cruise cont wire, the wiring harness connector was left disconnected and the key was rotated to the start position. after finding out what had happened the connector was hooked back up and the truck starts and runs, however the check engine light will not go out. any ideas?????

check eng light

disregard the check eng light. the light is out. disconnected the batteries and waited a few minutes and the check eng light ops check normal now.
