After my latest decent from high altitude in Colorado in my 92 first gen auto/cummins, I am looking for an engine brake. Is such a unit available for a 92, and can it be used on an automatic?

I put a Banks Exhaust Brake on my 93 Dodge. It was a mistake. Because the Torque Converter does not have a lockup clutch it did not work well and caused a lot of transmission heat. Convert it to a manual transmission and then install an exhaust brake, it you want to keep it.

There are brakes for 1st gens but they don't really work with autos. Talk to a good transmission shop to see what they can do for you. Be prepared to spend $. Shadrach
