Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) engine breaking up at low rpm cold

OK, the engine will break up in 2nd gear at around 2200 rpm until it is warmed up fully, then it doesn't break up until about 2900 rpm.



What could be causing this ??

Its more than likely late injection pump timing. If you haven't advanced you injection pump timing yet you should anyway. Set it at 16 deg BTDC and look for better MPGs and more power. This should cure your problem.

I only got the truck the first of this month. Timing is in the plans tho... trust me.
