BOMB primer

Gauges--Fuel Pressure to determine WHEN the lift pump is going out.

--Pyro (pre turbo) to keep from melting her down (1300 sustained is okay) cooler is better.

--Boost to make sure you're getting it.

Mount gauges on A-piller or on the dash.

BHAF (Fleetguard AH19037) --remove factory air box/filter assembly. Attach BHAF, fix it so the air box studs don't poke a hole in it. 6" orthopedic stockinette makes a good pre-filter wrap.

Remove Muffler. Resonator optional.

The BHAF and Muffler mods will not increase power, but will help keep EGT's down. The BHAF makes the turbo sound better. The straight pipe makes the truck sound great.

Optional- remove Silencer Ring (SR) in turbo inlet. Only makes the turbo louder (be careful to remove any aluminum shavings from pulling the retainer).

Now for 60-odd HP add the EDGE EZ or equivilent.

For a little more install 275RV injectors.

That artta get you started down the right path! It'll make some smoke (SMOKE IS GOOD) and be over 300HP and you'll have the gauges to make sure everything is okay.

ANY MORE than that and you'll be looking into transmission/clutch upgrades. Depending on how you drive you might want them sooner-- Especially with an auto.

ENJOY!

mtaylor1 - Welcome to the TDR. What Wade said is good advice. If you're transmission (don't know, you need to add a signature to your profile) is going to last, you might want to consider either a new clutch or an Auto upgrade. With what Wade suggested, you might be able to stay stock on the transmission, but if your headed down that road, you might want to consider upgrading the clutch/auto.
