This morning while visiting our son in Charleston, SC, my truck with 44000 miles on it 'Burped". I had driven about 10 miles and when leaving from a stop lite the truck just shut down for about 2 seconds and made a short 'pinging' or 'rattling' sound of about 4 pings. I was accelerating from the lite and doing about 10-15 miles an hour when it seemed to hesitate and die with the above pings-rattles. I got off the throttle and then back into it and it ran fine the rest of the day. I checked the CTS for codes but there was nothing. Changed out the fuel filter less than 2000 miles ago. This is the first time this has occurred since new.

Any thoughts?? Thanks--Also, camper was NOT on truck.

Sounds like the mystery "dead peddle" issue that happens from time to time. Do a search for "dead peddle" and you will find some post on this issue. No known cure for it that I've seen yet.

I've had this happen to me twice, pedal goes dead then push to floor and let off then all of sudden it's back, no explanation and no codes , last time it did it was 2 yrs. ago and i was pulling out onto the freeway while towing a skidsteer, maybe it won't come back ,or when you least expect it , it'll show up, don't worry about it , unless it doesn't come back, Monte

My 2012 did just that a few times. I had it reflashed when the shop replaced the leaking injectors in an attempt to fix it from filling the crankcase with fuel. It never did it again after the computer up date. Best way to describe the way it reacted is dead throttle or the engine break was stuck on and it attempted to get going..

Well, it hiccupped or burped again. This time we were on hwy 98 in FL. I had slowed down for a speed zone from 60 to 50. I hit the resume on the cruise control and just like before, it seemed to hesitate, heard about 3-4 pings and then it throttled up like normal. Sort of boggles the mind. We shall see.

Thanks for the comments.
