Engine click? Jacobs?

So far I have been very happy with my trade up to a 3rd gen. Had the dealer install a Jacobs E-brake after arrival of new truck and there is a click comming from the engine that sounds similar to my old truck when the a/c compressor would click on and off when running the defrost.



The sound is an intermittent click soon after start up. Could this be my E-brake generating vaccum? It does this even with heater off. It is just a bit concerning.

I have the jacobs e brake and get that same click. E-brake has been on for 40,000 trouble free miles

Disclaimer: This is only a guess!



Sounds kind of like the operation of the vacuum pump is the same as the a/c compressor. It may cycle like an air compressor (a/c) when vacuum bleeds down.
