Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Engine Code

Hope someone can clear up a reoccurring problem. After driving at highway speeds (say around 75'ish), I get an engine stumble when accelerating and whalla . . . I get a check engine light. I checked the error code and it read P-1693.



Any help ? Any suggestions ?

Do a search on 1693, that is a very popular code, and seems to mean very little usually...

1693 is useless. It means there has been a miscommunication between the PCM and the ECM. Do not worry about this.

Don't worry about it unless it's connected to the stumble... but is it symptomatic or just coincidental?

Thanks for the feedback. Just getting really concerned when I go to start back up after stopping at a light at the end of an off-ramp. When I go to start back up and the engine feels wicked sluggish (like throwing an anchor out). It's just not normal. I've had the MAP replaced . . .
