truck was running in the cold (20F) yesterday in high idle, was at opperating temp, started to run rough/shaking the truck more than normal. I have the Banks six gun. hasn't given me any trouble. then the CEL comes on. so i check it with the power pda. it spits out a P0336 crank sensor performance. I clear it, does not come back, yet. what's up with this, anyone experience it? thanks:confused:

How long have you had your Banks Six-Gun Tuner? I had a similar problem with mine right after I installed it. Did that about 3 times over a period of 6 weeks after installation and all 3 times, mine shut off. Cleared the code with the PowerPDA and it started right back up. Haven't had any problems since. Though I have seen others have the same issue as me right after installation. Don't know if you've been following RedRattler's recent thread, but he was having issues too and pulled his Banks off and his problem went away. Now, since the connection for the crankshaft position sensor is way down on the bottom side of the engine, it is going to be exposed to all kinds of weather and stuff. If the problem persists, you might want to try pulling the Banks off and see if the problem goes away. Another thing you might want to try is putting a little dielectric grease on the connectors to help insulate them from weather.

i have had it on there about 7 months. first time i got the code. You are right about the connection it is out there. i will check it and put some di-grease on it. thanks

I've had mine for about a year and all of the times that I got the P0336 and my engine stalled was when it was cold or damp and rainy/foggy. It did it while idling right after I started the engine. I'm not sure that the Banks connectors fit quite as snug as the factory connectors and ironically enough I have not put any di-grease on mine, though I really probably should just for peace of mind. There might also be a bit of corrosion or gunk build up causing a poor connection too. Although, I'm not real keen on fighting with the connector for the camshaft position sensor again either. The pig tails are a bit short on that one and the connection to the engine is a SERIOUS PAIN due to where it located. Not a lot of room to fight with the retaining clip that's on the connector. Anyway, I hope this helps solve your problem!
