Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) engine code's

just bought a 2000 4x4 5 speed stock as far as i can tell. made the drive 600 miles back home engine light came on half way home checked code's got a p0252, p0121, p1698. truck ran fine had a dead pedal once then light came on. shut off to fill up no light on restart still runs fine oh and the fuel gauge does not work. any help would be appreciated thanks!

APPS voltage input below the minimum acceptable

voltage.



Didn't see a P0252 but here is the info on a

P0253 (M) Fuel Injection Pump Fuel Valve

Open Circuit

Problem sensed with fuel circuit internal to fuel injection

pump.



P1693 (M) DTC Detected in Companion Module A fault has been generated in the companion engine

control module.



With you getting a dead pedal and the codes it looks to me like you may be replacing an injection pump.

Hey dude, welcome to TDR and congrats on the truck!

Find someone with a 1998. 5 - 2002 manual transmission truck that has no dead pedal symptoms. Swap his APPS onto your truck (aluminum mount and all) and see if the symptoms happen again. If so you will probably need a VP44 sooner than later. If not then pm timbo here on TDR and buy an aftermarket APPS from him for much less than Dodge.
